Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat Pink Daisy

can't say enuf good things!!!5

I am more than pleased with this purchase. i bought it for $150 from Walmart a week ago and it is my second car seat purchase. This seat is ultra safe. It gets great ratings on Consumer Reports in all areas but especially crash safety and ease of use. It allows extended use of 5 point harness (up to 65 lbs vs. 40 lbs)and has four shoulder strap adjustments (I have never seen more than three!). The headrest can be set so high that a small adult could use it. Plus the high back comes off to make it a backless booster!! This is the only booster I've seen with that feature under $200. The arm rests do not adjust but they have cubbies inside them to keep crayons and wikki stix. One of my fav features is the cup holder that is built into the armrest b/c it is so super sturdy that it securely holds a very large full cup... and I can easily reach it from the driver's seat! and it does not stick out the side which is inconvenient for other back passengers. My last rear-facing convertable car seat by Safety 1st was extremely difficult to adjust the harness ~ this one is EXTREMELY easy!! Also the shoulder padding is not only removeable for cleaning but it velcro's for super easy removal and it has an additional pad on the crotch buckle. As I said I cannot say enough great things about this car seat!!More detail ...

Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat Matrix

Own 2 Frontiers and the Nautilus4

I own 2 Britax Frontiers in Pink and the Graco Nautilus in pink as well. As a Mother who owns both models I will tell you the major differences between these two seats from my point of view.

#1 Frontier is more expensive (which is why I got the Nautilus for my spare)

#2 Frontier is SO much easier to adjust the shoulder height strap. With a simple squeeze of a lever the straps go up. The Graco needs to be rethreaded. This is BIG pain when you have another child who wants to use the seat. With the Frontier it is no biggie to pull the lever.

#3 Frontier seat material is prone to wear where the child's bottom and legs rub on the seat. It also shows WAY more stains and soaks up spills quicker than the Graco.

#4 Frontier has 3 crotch strap adjustments for easy fitting. The Graco only has 2 which makes the older kids sit on the strap. This can get uncomfortable. My oldest DD takes the pad off of the crotch strap on the Frontier (she says it makes the seat look like a "baby seat" with the pad) but she can not do this with the Graco as the crotch strap rubs on her legs causing red irritation when wearing shorts. The graco pad is very thick and wraps the entire strap (between the legs) and then goes up to sit on the belly. She does not seem to mind sitting on it but it does not look too comfortable to me.

#5 Padding on Frontier is WAY thicker (on both seat and seat back)and more comfortable to sit on. I can't imagine that the Graco would be comfortable for long trips.

#6 Heads slump forward for younger kids when sleeping in the Graco. The "wings" around the head are very fat (giving the appearance of a "yonger child's seat") and are so close to the child's head that it causes it to go forward when sleeping. The frontier has wider "wings" and are perfect for sleeping children. The "wings" are farther away from the head and are angled just right as to allow sleeping and looking out the window. The "wings" are thinner and have more of a "big" kid look. This thinner look in NO WAY implies that Graco is safer for the thicker "wings" as Britax states that its wings are "true side impact protection". Graco does not state this. The plastic around wings appear to be of stronger material on the Frontier even though they are thinner. Frontier also has the "hugs" system on the harness to minimize forward head movement. Graco does not.

#7 The Graco has only a 12.5 inch seat width for the child to move around in. The Frontier has a 12.5 seat area around the tush but opens to a spacious 17 inch wide seat. This may not be an issue for the younger kids but the older ones need more space. This may however be an issue for small cars.

#8 Cup holder and "hidden" storage are neat in the Graco. The Frontier has 2 cup holders but they can not both be out as one hits the door when installed on far right or left. The cup holders also do not go smoothly in and out when installed in the vehicle as the seat blocks the cup holder from retracting. This does not happen when the seat is not snugged down but when installed..... This is not too much of an issue as we just leave them out. This is only an issue when I have a third child trying to walk to the back 3rd row between 2 Frontiers with cup holders out!

Bottom line. If you need a car seat around the time that Britax has a sale I would get it over the Graco. The price difference at that time would only be $50. I think that your big kids will be happier in the Frontier. If you have a smaller child remember he/she will be a big kid soon!More detail ...

Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat Base Silver

Double Your Infant Seat's Usefulness for a Little Money5

My wife and I have been long-time fans of our Graco infant seat so much so that we would have been willing to purchase a second one in order to ensure that either my wife or I would always be ready to get up and go with our son when necessary. However Graco saved us from having to do that by offering this base alone as an accessory.

Some other reviews have claimed that having an additional base isn't really necessary because LATCH allows you to easily move the base from car-to-car. This sounds reasonable on paper but breaks down in real life:

* What if one of your cars is older than 2001 and doesn't have LATCH? Ask anyone who's correctly installed a car seat or base via the seatbelt and they'll confirm that it is a physically difficult endeavor. Faced with a choice between regularly undergoing this exertion or else investing in an additional base and then leaving it in place I'd bet 99% would go for the base (the other 1% apparently enjoy a vigorous workout at the most inopportune times).

* Will you always have the time to switch? When you're commuting or traveling with an infant time is an even more crucial resource than usual. Plus any number of other factors (What if you're alone with the baby? What if the weather is severe?) could make the prospect of a guaranteed quick departure well worth the $40 spent on a spare base.

* What about unforseen schedule changes? When our son began going to day care he had to be brought home early on several occasions because of ailments. Having a base in each car meant that either of us could go get him. So if one of was too tied up at the office we wouldn't have to stress over begging out of work early during a busy time.

More than a simple convenience having a base in each of your family's vehicles is an insurance policy against being painted into a corner when getting around town with your little one. Any working parent will especially appreciate not having to stress over "do I have the car with the car seat?" at any given time. We've gotten our money's worth out of this accessory time and time again.More detail ...

Britax Frontier 85 Combination Booster Car Seat Rushmore

Great Car Seat for Tall Toddlers4

After doing the prerequisite research on all the car seats available We decided on the Frontier. It seems to me that all the seats were decent it boils down to a personal choice. We based our choice on features and safety. The seat appeals to me because of the height adjustment feature and its ability to grow with our child up until she only needs the booster alone. Our 3 year old had grown out of our Marathon but was not ready of course to be in a booster without at least a 3 point harness. I am so far very pleased with the seat. The only complainst or comments I have are: The seat has a net like material on top of the microfiber on the seat..The netting gets caught on everything like velcro and snaps. It became ripped within the first week. I would rather have had the microfiber that is on the marathon (it does not appear that I can cut the netting out). Second the seat is a little difficult to install. We went to the Fire Department as I had in the past and they had no idea how to install it seeing how its so new to the market. I called an install expert who came out to the house and installed it properly so we could see for ourselves how it should look. Third the crotch buckle is really difficult to adjust it took the expert and myself more than 15 minutes to get the buckle through the slot. Overall I like the seat and would reccomend it.More detail ...

Graco High Back TurboBooster Car Seat Wander

This does NOT have side pillows3

Overall this is good seat. It is light weight and seems pretty sturdy. However the turbobooster comes in many models of which it is difficult to tell the subtle differences. I bought this one because the description says it comes with the Gracopedic luxury foam on the seat and padded side pillows. But contrary to the item description this does not come with the side pillows.

Babies R Us offers similar models with both the upgraded seat and side pillows--they are called Abbey or Roanoke. This is the only model that comes with the neck pillow.More detail ...

Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat Matrix

better than radian or britax in my humble opinion5

So I did a LOT of reseach before buying this read multiple message boards then to the store to look at them etc. This replaced a britax that was passed down to DD #2 for my rather large 4 yo girl(40lbs 40inches)I want to keep her harnessed for as long as I can. I finally decided to go for it b/c of

1)price (though it really wasn't an object) but I am a big fan of bang for your buck

2)sturdiness i was never a fan of graco until i bought this seat. It's got a nice weight sturdy frame.

3)comfort memory foam! DD loves it she sleeps very comfortably in it without slumping over like she used to.

4)size not gigantic like the regent but large it enough to have a big kid sit in it

I was concerned about its looks but it's much better looking in person.

Finally who can beat amazon's price!

I highly recommend it I think it will last my DD until she's prob 7-8 yo (My average sized 8yo nephew fits!)More detail ...
